Which real estate category should I choose for my Google Business Profile?

A real estate agent recently asked this -- it's a question I love because categories are super important for how your GBP will rank in Google's local search results.
For as long as I can remember, there have been 13 categories that specifically mention "real estate" in the Google Business Profile dashboard. (By comparison, there are a few hundred "restaurant" categories.)
The answer is that you should choose all of the categories that accurately describe your business.
Note that I said "categories," not "category." That's important. You should add all the categories that are relevant to how you do business. (If you ever hear someone say having more than one category will hurt your visibility...they're wrong.)
"Real estate agent" is probably best as your primary category (assuming that's what you are/do). You can add up to nine additional categories -- and you should add all that are appropriate. But I wouldn't add "real estate developer," "real estate auctioneer," or any other category to your GBP unless you actually do/are those things.
