Those extra Google links? You can't edit them

See those six indented links below the main/primary link up top?

Those are called sitelinks. You generally only see them for navigational searches; the above shows when you search for my wife's business by name. Or it should show....

I'm not a fan of the sitelinks Google is showing there. The first few are okay. But that "experiencing real estate" thing links to a really old blog post that's not gonna help anyone, and then there's no reason for a sitelink that points to my profile page.

I'd love to change those links, but I can't. If you have sitelinks, you can't change them, either.

In SEO, we think you can influence them with how you link internally, and maybe by having breadcrumb navigation on your site. But it's mostly out of your control. If you don't like your sitelinks, you have to...as a massive pop song advised not too long ago...let it go. 🎶

Even if you don't like the sitelinks Google shows for your site, there's a bright side. Google generally shows sitelinks only when you've achieved some degree of trust/notoriety. I look at sitelinks as one small sign that Google is starting to see you (or my wife) as a brand, which is a Good Thing.
