AI Overviews now at 58% of real estate searches
- Matt McGee
- Google AI Overviews
AI Overviews now appear in 58% of the 250 real estate keywords I'm watching. This is the highest I've seen since I began tracking in late May.
Some more details from the November check:
2 of the 25 commercial keywords included an AIO
0 of the 25 navigational keywords included an AIO
142 of the 200 informational keywords included an AIO
Just like last month, there was A LOT of turnover -- i.e., keywords that had an AIO last month but don't now, and vice versa. Here are those lists.

It's interesting that there's so much change month-to-month for some keywords, as if Google's still testing engagement and other signals.
But the biggest news of all...
I've never seen an AIO for this kind of keyword before
Several of the 25 commercial keywords I track are in the "[LOCATION] real estate agent" format. Those have never shown an AIO until today.
This is what I got for the search "best realtors rockford" -->
That's a nice Google endorsement for the agents mentioned in the AIO, isn't it?
It's not necessarily the word "best" that's triggering the AIO -- one of my other keywords is "best realtors in phoenix" and there's no AI Overview for that one. OTOH, "best realtor to help sell a historic home" DOES produce an AIO, so it's very hit-and-miss.
If AIOs expand on keywords like that, it could have a negative impact on Google Business Profile visibility.
As always, members of my mastermind community have full access to the complete list of 250 keywords that I'm watching every month.
In the near future, I'm hoping to tweak that list to focus more on keywords that a local real estate agent might want to write about/optimize for on their website. As you can see on the lists above, some keywords ("how do home appraisals work" and "home inspection cost" are just two examples) are probably not worth an agent's time to target via blog content and SEO. So it doesn't matter as much if those produce an AI Overview.
