AI Overviews show in 63% of real estate searches

AI Overviews continue to grow more prevalent in Google's search results.

I'm tracking 250 real estate keywords (80% are information, 10% are navigational, and 10% are commercial) and as of December 1, 157 of those keywords show an AI Overview. This continues to grow by a few percentage points every month, and is now at its highest level since I started tracking keywords in May.

graphic that says 63% of real estate searches now show an AI Overview

Some more details:

  • Only 1 of the 25 commercial keywords showed an AI Overview: "best realtor to help sell a historic home"

  • None of the navigational keywords show an AI Overview, and none ever have

  • 156 of the 200 informational keywords show an AI Overview

Here are two lists showing the turnover in AI Overviews -- which keywords had an AI Overview in November but don't now, and vice versa.

Was showing an AIO last monthy, not showing now

  • best realtors rockford

  • cost of living seattle vs portland

  • is it worth trying to sell my house now?

  • how to sell a fixer-upper house fast

  • cost of living missoula

  • are mid century modern homes a good investment

Was not showing an AIO last month, is showing now

  • where should i retire in arizona?

  • best cities to live in usa

  • cost of living portland oregon

  • selling a house in poor condition

  • is home staging worth it

  • top 10 curb appeal tips

  • pass fail inspection

  • do i need a realtor to buy a house

  • things to do before buying a house

  • red flags when buying a house

  • what factors influence the market value of a home

  • how do home appraisals work

  • is 40 too old to buy first house

  • pros and cons of living in chicago

  • pros and cons of buying a condo

  • safest cities in illinois

  • do open houses work

  • best place to buy a vacation home

  • best neighborhoods in hartford

I'm still hoping/planning to adjust the main keyword list. I want to remove some search terms that would probably not reflect content an agent would want on their blog/website. (The keyword "is 40 too old to buy first house" above is one example.)
